CROSSNIQ (NES style demake)
CROSSNIQ is an indie puzzle game where you match up colored tiles in “crosses“: i.e. intersecting rows and columns of the same color. This is an interpretation of that game in a pseudo-NES style.
Default controls are as follows, but can be remapped:
Virtual button | P1 keyboard | P2 keyboard | gamepads |
A (select) | X (Enter in menu) | Numpad 7 | B (right) |
B (unused) | Z (Esc in menu) | Numpad 9 | A (bottom) |
Up | Up | Numpad 8 | D-Pad up |
Down | Down | Numpad 2 | D-Pad down |
Left | Left | Numpad 4 | D-Pad left |
Right | Right | Numpad 6 | D-Pad right |
Start (pause) | Esc | Numpad Minus | Start |
Select (unused) | (none) | (none) | (none) |
Note for game jam: Does not explicitly follow the optional theme “Side-effects” (although you can argue that the mechanic of moving the entire row or column, instead of moving one tile at once, fits the theme).
